Elastomeric additive in asphalt - a new stage in the development of rubber-asphalt mixtures
Reacted and Activated Rubber (RAR), a binder for rubber asphalt, consists of soft petroleum road bitumen, crushed rubber crumb and Activated Mineral Binder Stabilizer (AMBS) in optimal proportions.
Development Studies of RuBind. PG Grade Evaluation and JnR RuBind 1. Israel Bitumens
This report presents a summary of results undertaken to evaluate the binder properties of bitumens sent from DSI – Israel. Some of which were also further modified with RuBind 1 sent from RuBind Inc. All the tests were executed in Consulpav. The bitumens received were designated 68, 70, 76 and S. The bitumens chosen to be modified were 68 and S.
Study of Rubind. Stage 4 - Russian Bitumen
The main goal of this study was to investigate if modifying a regular russian bitumen with Rubind a performance similar to that obtained by SBS or other highly modified bitumens can be achieved. Several laboratory tests conducted on different bitumens and mixtures with different percentages of Rubind (TA2 H-C received from RUBIND INC.) were conducted. The bitumens from Russia were supplied to CONSULPAV, in order to determine their characteristics.

Pre-treated crumb rubber technologies are emerging as a new method to produce asphalt rubber mixtures in the field. A new crumb rubber modifier industrially known as “RuBind” is one such technology. RuBind™ is a “Reacted and Activated Rubber” (RAR) that acts like an elastomeric asphalt extender to improve the engineering properties of the binder and mixtures.

Elastomeric Asphalt Extender – A New Frontier on Asphalt Rubber Mixes
The primary reason for using Asphalt Rubber (AR) in Hot Mix Asphalts (HMA) is that it provides significantly improved engineering properties over conventional paving grade asphalt (bitumen). Asphalt rubber binders can be engineered to perform in any type of climate. Responsible asphalt rubber binder designers usually consider climate conditions and available traffic data in their design to provide a suitable asphalt rubber product.
